Across the Divide was established
in 1996 by Mark and Karen Hannaford, using their many years
of experience in organising expeditions and managing large
events. Across The Divide has ten years of working closely
with our charity clients to deliver exceptional worldwide
challenges. Please visit Across
the Divide for further information.
Mark Hannaford - Director
Mark is the founding director of Across the Divide along with
his wife Karen Hannaford. Mark has been involved with charity
challenges and expeditions for over 22 years and has lead
expeditions in all of the world’s continents as well
as taking part in extreme endurance events.
He is also a senior instructor on the Expedition and Polar
Medicine Courses and a photographer for the John Warburton
Lee Photographic Library
Karen Hannaford - Director
Founding
Director of the company Karen has been involved for over 17
years in expeditions, event management and charity work.
Karen enjoys running the expeditions both large and small, she is a keen runner and is also the mother of two active children.
Steve Clark – Sales Manager
Having completed the London and Edinburgh Marathons, Steve
needed a new challenge. In April 2005 he completed the Marathon
des Sables in Morocco and has been well and truly bitten by
the ultra distance race bug. This has inspired him to develop
the extreme series for Across the Divide.
Tony Ford – UK Events Manager
Tony not only brings to the events a broad range of event
organisational skills but he also has great experience of
the other side of running challenges. Drawn from a deep desire
to take on bigger hills and longer hauls, Tony has found himself
on the finish line of several of the worlds most strange races,
from Tough Guy to Lions Head, and The Beast to Bibbulmun Trail.
After 15 years of marathons and trail races, Tony still has
a deep desire to see how much mud and obstacles he can battle
his way through.
